With Christmas quickly approaching and everyone trying in earnest to finish (or start…) their holiday shopping I think it’s important to take a pause and consider a few things before we rush to complete our shopping lists. Buying a child a toy or watching your children open their presents Christmas morning is certainly one of the highlights of Christmas. However careful consideration needs to be given regarding toy safety and safe play habits to make sure your Holiday isn’t marred by a little one getting hurt while playing. In 2010 there were 252,000 kids under the age of 15 treated in emergency rooms due to toy related injuries. That statistic is alarming considering in 2008 a very tough product safety law was enacted to prevent injuries and product recalls.
